Concrete Finishing in Wichita Falls, Texas

Wichita Falls Concrete ContractorsConcrete Finishing is a necessary step in all concrete projects. It is therefore factored into all other services we offer here at Wichita Falls Concrete Contractors. With that being said, concrete finishing can also be a standalone service if you would like to finish concrete that has previously been installed. This is something that we have done several times throughout the Wichita Falls area.

Types of Concrete Finishes

There are several types of concrete finishes. A few common finishes in Wichita Falls include:

  1. Troweled Finish: The concrete is worked over with a trowel to create a very smooth surface.
  2. Broom Finish: A broom finishing is done by first implementing a troweled finish, then taking a special broom to the surface. This creates a more rough texture which creates traction, and is therefore ideal for slippery areas.
  3. Salt Finish: Salt is applied to the surface of wet concrete, which creates a textured surface that is resistant to slippage. Salt finishes are therefore commonly used for pool decks. We have implemented salt finishes on numerous pool decks in the Wichita Falls area.
  4. Exposed Aggregate Finish: With an exposed aggregate finish, you will be able to visually see the aggregate used when the concrete was mixed. This is the only finish where this is the case because it washes away the top layer of cement. It is commonly used for sidewalks and porches due to its non-slip finish.
  5. Stained Concrete Finish: Stained concrete has color added to it so that it can fit to a custom theme. Staining concrete can give a surface a whole new look. If done properly, the color will be preserved for a very long time.
  6. Stamped Concrete Finish: Stamped concrete finishing is a popular type of decorative concrete that offers an upscale and creative look. It uses a method of stamping panels onto the uncured concrete to give it a custom visual. Stamped finishing can make concrete look like a completely different material.
  7. Polished Concrete Finish: Polished finishing is a great way to add protection and visual appeal to concrete. Floor grinders are used to polish the surface. The type of floor grinder used will depend on how coarse or fine you would like the concrete to be.
